Finding your place on campus begins by feeling at home. At Champlain, you’ll find Victorian-era mansions with curved staircases, carefully restored woodwork and expansive windows looking out over Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains. Champlain’s unique residence halls are completely different from anything you might encounter at other campuses.
The fact that our residence halls feel so much like home has a huge impact on campus life. Each residence has a much more communal atmosphere than ordinary residence halls, and people tend to feel a lot more ownership toward where they live. Not just toward the physical space itself, but also the people within it. This setting helps create much closer and longer-lasting relationships, something we think really differentiates Champlain.
Our residence halls are not distinguished merely by their architectural individuality; many have their own distinct personalities. The Wellness, Community Service, International and Performing/Arts residence halls give students the chance to live with others who share common interests.
Each residence hall has a live-in head resident to help you settle in, navigate campus and get to know the Burlington area. There’s also a resident assistant — an upper-year student who understands the challenges of adapting to college life. Special activities throughout the academic year give every residential student the opportunity to learn something new, have fun, give to others and meet other students.
Champlain residence halls have all the amenities, including:
