If Champlain is clearly your first choice, our Early Decision program is an option you might want to consider. Admission under Early Decision allows a student to enjoy the advantage of resolving college plans well before the mailing date of Regular Decision.
Students applying to Champlain through the Early Decision program may not submit any other Early Decision applications. However, students may apply to other colleges for regular admission with the understanding that if admitted early, they are obligated to withdraw all applications to other colleges and to enroll at Champlain College.
Early Decision is not for everyone and so we encourage you to talk to a Champlain Admission Counselor before making the commitment. If you know without a doubt that Champlain is the place for you, please download and print the Early Decision agreement form, have it signed by your Guidance Counselor and then submit by mail to Champlain College. The Early Decision Agreement cannot be submitted electronically.
For those students who apply but who are not admitted under the Early Decision program, the Admission Committee may want further information and/or grades, in which case applications may be deferred to our Regular Decision pool.
Incoming students will be assigned to the appropriate writing and math courses based on their SAT/ACT scores, high school math achievement, previous college courses or placement tests administered by Champlain College at orientation or registration. College Algebra will be waived for students who have passed Calculus with a grade of B or better. Foreign language placement is based on the results of placement exams administered at orientation or registration or on SAT II results. Requirements are determined by language faculty.
